How to make your Halloween healthy without sacrificing the fun…
As a child I always avoided the neighbors houses that would give away boxes of raisins or fruit on Halloween in place of candy. However, as an adult I look for ways not to contribute to the mindless indulgence of sugar and unhealthy treats.
Where is the middle ground that will make both children and parents happy?
Try passing out fun toys such as super balls or jump ropes, if you are compelled to pass out candy choose the small size miniatures, possibly even sugar-free and of you are a parent make sure you prescreen and inspect the treats before your child enjoys them.
Have a safe Halloween!!
Try Something New!!!
You’ve heard the saying “Never be afraid to try something new. Remember amateurs built the ark, professionals built the titanic”
Sometimes cardio workouts on the treadmill can be monotonous. Don’t be afraid to switch it up! I went to play tennis with a friend, who just happens to be an instructor. Rather than just hitting around balls, she actually taught me technique, I was hesitant at first but it ended up being a great workout. Not only the intense cardiovascular aspect of the sport, but my muscles were challenged in a way that was unfamiliar which is exactly what you want. In addition, it’s always fun when you’re with friends!
I encourage EVERYONE to try something new!!
